Tilly Lucas Rodd Award
Tilly commenced her footy at Richmond in the Auskick program for a couple of seasons before joining our under nine team.
Tilly continued to play with us until sadly she reached the age group where girls were no longer allowed to play with the boys at Under 14 level – playing 125 quality games in that time period for RJFC. Throughout that period Tilly was a prolific award winner, including two 3rd Best & Fairest awards.
Moving to a club that offered all girls football at the time, Greythorn, she had 3 seasons there which included two YJFL competition Best & Fairest in the youth girls competition. Currently Tilly is playing VFL football with the St Kilda Sharks and AFLW with Carlton. Undoubtedly RJFC’s most outstanding female player (to this point) we will award this to the player we we as displaying the same great skill and determination as Tilly.
A RJFC past player in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Unfortunately Feisel passed away in 1993 at the age of sixteen. A courageous and determined player who displayed great leadership both on and off the field, the club recognises him through striking this award for a player displaying similar qualities.
This award honours a young 6 year old who had a dream of one day paying competitive football. Joshua fought leukaemia for three years of his short life until he finally lost the battle. A courageous, determined youngster who was an inspiration for all whom were in hospital with him. This award is presented to the type of player that has the characteristics of Josh and we hope by this award it will keep his memory alive.
Best spoiler for the season
