RJFC celebrates 1,000th girls’ team in Victoria
On Tuesday 21 May, there was a celebration at Citizens Park for the 1,000th girls’ AFL team in Victoria!
A host of our RJFC girls were on hand to celebrate along with AFL Victoria, City of Yarra mayor, Danae Bosler, Victorian state MPs Martin Pakula (Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events) & Gabrielle Williams (Minister for Women and Minister for Youth), Dr Bridie O’Donnell (Director, Office for Women in Sport & Recreation) and AFL Womens stars, Katie Brennan (Richmond FC) & Kaitlyn Ashmore (North Melbourne FC).
We are incredibly proud of our girls’ footy programme at RJFC and it was fantastic to be recognised for this wonderful milestone in female sport in Victoria.
