Footy’s Back

The sun was almost shining at Citizens Park on Sunday as the new jerseys (courtesy of Belle Property Richmond) were laid out and distributed for the first match.

New teams (26 in total), new coaches and new umpires strutting their stuff. A quick peer over the hoarding revealed that the new clubrooms are well under construction although may not quite be finished by August as originally planned.

Excitingly at 10am we welcomed our 3rd home ground in Richmond into commission. It was first time since the 1970s the oval football has been kicked in a game at Burnley Park (note we are relying on the memory of the long time ground manager Bomber for that statistic!).

Thanks to everyone who helped get this season away, and let’s hope we can stay on the park for the rest of the season as well!
