RJFC season 2023 in review

2023 Annual Review quick view

Over the weekend, we celebrated our 2023 season with two fantastic Presentation events.

On Saturday night, our Youth boys and Youth girls teams celebrated at the Bowls Club. For a large number of boys and girls, this marked the end of their playing days at RJFC, perhaps even more emotional for their parents whose winter weekends and social lives have revolved around the junior footy club for the last 10 years! Then on Sunday, we celebrated Presentation Day at Lynall Hall for all other RJFC teams, followed by a social gathering back at the Jack Dyer Pavilion. Many thanks to both Richmond Union Bowling Club and Lynall Hall Community School for making their facilities available.

As part of these events, the club recognised two new life members for their service to RJFC over many years, in multiple roles. Congratulations to Chris McNeill and Troy Chandler. Chris & Troy join the group of volunteers awarded life membership of the club over the past 50 years.

Now published is the 2023 RJFC Annual Review booklet, which runs to an enormous 36 pages this year, and contains sections on each team, team awards, club awards, etc. Thanks to all the coaches, volunteers, committee members and photographers out there who helped pull it all together. And a very special thanks to Rachel Lowrie, our volunteer graphic designer who has produced this magnificent publication since 2013.

Go back and look at the history of these annual reviews – this one is the best so far!

Just like Chris & Troy, Rachel’s youngest is a retiring (premiership-winning!) Youth Boy from 2023, so the club is on the lookout for a talented graphic designer to take on this role for 2024 and beyond – get in touch if you are happy to help.

Also some special thanks to Catryn & Clare Tuckwell for coordinating and producing the team photos this year, distributed at the Presentation Events – these also look brilliant.

Well done to all, thanks for another amazing season and see you all back in 2024.
