Grand Finals are this Sunday!

Commiserations, but also congratulations, to our U15 Girls, U13 Boys and U12 Boys Black teams, who all played brilliant campaigns to get so far into finals and just fell short last Sunday.

This Sunday 1 September sees three of our girls’ teams in their grand finals  – U13 Yellow Girls, U14 Girls and U16 Girls.

We have never had 3 teams in Grand Finals in the same year, nor have we had any girls’ teams in Grand Finals before (….but we did win the U10 Girls Lightning premiership last year!). These are two very significant milestones for our wonderful club.

We encourage everyone from the RJFC community to get along and support our teams in their quest for eternal glory. Wear your yellow and black and get the pom poms and flags out.

The fixtures for Sunday’s games are:

At Greythorn Park in Balwyn North:

  • 1.00pm start: U13 Yellow girls vs. Hawthorn Citz
  • 3.00pm start: U14 girls vs. St Marys

At AJ Burkitt Oval, Banyule:

  • 2.45pm start: U16 girls vs. Surrey Park

All families are also invited to head back to the Bowls Club on Sunday night to hear how the teams went during the day. Everyone is welcome there after cheering on our 3 girls’ teams – any time in the afternoon. This week their brand new bar is open but the kitchen won’t be open – families are more than welcome to bring their own food or order in – lots of local options with pizza, dumplings, etc.

As always, best of luck to all those involved!
