Summer Squad is back from Sunday 9 February

Calling all RJFC families, boys and girls, we hope you’ve enjoyed your holidays and are ready to get back into pre-season footy. Our popular Summer Squad at Alan Bain Reserve will return from Sunday 9 February, and will be split into two sessions as follows:

  • Under 8s to Under 11s will train from 4.00pm to 5.00pm
    followed by
  • Under 12s and above from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.

We understand the inconvenience this may bring to those families with children in both age groups but due to the limited training space available, this will be the best outcome for all, giving the older age groups more space to run their drills.

The sessions will be held on Sundays at Alan Bain Reserve (opposite Richmond Primary School) on the following dates:

  • Sunday, 9 February,
  • Sunday, 16 February,
  • Sunday, 23 February, and
  • Sunday, 1 March.

Beyond these four Sundays, stay tuned for further details of team-by-team pre-season training times and venues as we get closer to the season, which starts after Easter (check out the season calendar).

Summer Squad sessions are optional, however we encourage all returning and new players to attend these sessions and would like to welcome last season’s Auskickers and their families into the RJFC fold, as they step up into the Under 8s for the upcoming season.

Things to bring along:

  • Runners to be worn (NO footy boots!)
  • Water bottle
  • Football

Please spread the word amongst your family and friends – we’re looking for new members in particular across the U8 to U10 age groups – and can only reinforce the wonderful opportunity this provides for the kids to mix and develop new friendships. Don’t hesitate to contact Summer Squad coordinator, Mick Murrihy, with any queries or concerns you may have, otherwise we look forward to seeing you there!
